Review: Cerezo Osaka 2-3 Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo (J1 MD7)

This section was held at home following the previous section. Cerezo Osaka welcomed Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo to Yodokou Sakura Stadium and challenged the Meiji Yasuda J1 League Section 7. The starting lineup was changed for one player from the previous section. Capixaba entered the right wing instead of Seiya Maikuma and made his first starter in the league after joining.
The game moved from the beginning. In the 6th minute, Cerezo’s left side was broken through from the flow from the throw-in, and Takuro Kaneko, who was free on the other side, scored a goal. Once Cerezo started to attack back, in the 14th minute, Leo Ceara was fallen by the opponent DF in the penalty area, got a PK and scored it by himself, that made the score tie. They wanted to start over the game, but conceded immediately after that. After the ball was stolen in the center, the shooting cross of Kaneko, who received the pass on the right side, went straight into the goal. It became a development to chase again. Against Sapporo"s man-to-man defense, Cerezo tried to break through the situation, as GK Kim Jin Hyeon joined the build-up. In the 18th minute, Shinji Kagawa competed for a feed from Kim Jin Hyeon, and Capixaba came out from the behind and had a chance to score. In the 33rd and 38th minutes, they broke through the left side and approached a goal from crosses from Hirotaka Tameda. On the other hand, even after conceding 2 goals, the pinch continued with Sapporo"s attack. Sapporo used long balls to the behind of Cerezo’s players and to the side, and made scoring chances. However, the goal of the 25th minute when the net was shaken was offside, and for the one in the 44th minute Kim Jin Hyeon blocked with his good save. Cerezo became a chaser for the third time, and Mutsuki Kato, who came on as a substitute in the 66th minute, activated the attack.
